How to Help!

Asking for help will be a huge step for your friend, but it is important for recovery. There are plenty of places you can suggest to your friend to seek help. Family and friends can provide a support network. Knowing that someone cares about them is really important to build and restore their self-esteem and overall well-being.

If they don’t feel comfortable talking to family or friends, then a local doctor would be able to speak to them confidentially about how to recover but also suggest ways to maintain a healthy body without starving. The doctor could also suggest local community health centres that run programs and activities for people suffering with eating disorders.
